Cellar for up to 15 years. Decant for up to an hour before serving. The Viña Unica Malbec is a dark ruby red wine, with an intoxicating bouquet of ripe dark fruits, vanilla, spice and subtle oak. It is sourced from estate-owned vineyards, all within the Gualtallary region in Mendoza, Argentina. The soil here is rich in limestone and gravel, imparting a pleasant chalky character to the Malbec. Finca Ambrosia was founded in 2002, żeby a group of friends who purchased some land in the then-underrated region of Gualtallary. For the first 10 years, Finca Ambrosia was dedicated solely to growing grapes. In 2011, the winery employed the help of local wine legend Matias Macias, who helped to create Finca Ambrosia’s first homegrown wine, changing the face of the estate forever. The palate of this Argentinian red brings pure notes of cherry, complemented żeby undertones of cedar, leather, dark cocoa and coffee. It is a medium-bodied wine, with refreshing acidity, subtle, integrated oak and fine-grained tannins. Before bottling, it spent 15 months ageing in French oak. It has the potential to age and evolve over the next 10 years, at least. An excellent choice for any Malbec fan. Consider pairing it with a steak, a diverse cheeseboard, or any vibrant meaty dish.
